Domain Name Wire is reporting that sofa.com was sold without authorization by an employee of the company that owned it. The employee pocketed the money.
When domains like sofa.com, the one that was stolen, sell for $200K, you have to be careful with them. Think of this when you make your techie guy with all those piercings (you know, whatshisname?) the Administrative Contact for the domain.
And when your domain disappears and you didn't do it, think about who could possibly have done it.
