In the past month I was part of the team at RSA that researched the universal man-in-the-middle (MITM) phishing kit that recently gathered quite a bit of attention in various publications. In the phishing world there are various roles: there are the "nice" people who operate the phishing kits; there are the shady characters who translate these hard earned credentials into money; and there are the people who write the phishing sites, or kits. In between there is commerce, just like in any successful industry (and who wouldn't call the fraud industry successful?)
