I know it is not fashionable with many in the security crowd to think that NAC is actually making progress or that customers are still giving a lot of mind share to NAC, but much like Hillary Clinton, NAC refuses to die. Today's evidence comes from a new survey by Forrester and reported in SearchSecurity.com by Robert Westervelt. According the report NAC, disk encryption and application security lead the way in terms of interest by IT professionals.
Of course the survey shows the usual security way of life that budget cuts and lack of money, lack of security skills and overworked, overburdened resources were preventing managers from addressing their security needs in the way they would like to. 43% of respondents expressed interest in NAC or planned adoption in the next 12 months. For a technology that is supposed to be dead man walking, that ain't too shabby!
