      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>VMware made big announcements at their <a href="http://www.vmworld.com/index.jspa" target="_blank">VMworld conference</a> back in September, talking about adding on a slew of virtualization management functionality to a revamped vCenter and extending into the “cloud” with vCloud services. Like most people, I had a lot of skepticism about what vCloud really meant; was this just more hype trying to take advantage of the cloud computing buzz? Certainly CEO Paul Maritz came from this world and virtualization itself (and especially vMotion) is an enabling technology for cloud computing. But how ready were VMware and its ecosystem of partner vendors to actually fulfill on the promise?</p>
<p>So I was very interested when I heard that <a href="http://opusinteractive.com/" target="_blank">Opus Interactive</a>, a customer of ours, had “joined the VMware vCloud initiative as a <a href="http://www.opusinteractive.com/news_detail.asp?item=40" target="_blank">VMware Service Provider</a>”. I talked to Eric Hulbert, CTO of Opus Interactive, to get some details directly from the source.</p>

<p>Eric shared our own caution about making “cloud-ready” announcements. There have simply been too many companies talking about cloud solutions that lack any substance – usually based on definitions of cloud computing that are hazy or just too broad. The backlash against the cloud hype is often quite justified. But in Opus’ case, there are real components that if they don’t add up to a “full” cloud computing solution just yet, are well on their way – and enabled by <a href="http://www.vmware.com/partners/vip/service-providers/" target="_blank">VMware’s program for service providers</a> (VSPP).</p>
<p>Opus Interactive is <a href="http://www.viddler.com/explore/sciencelogic/videos/3" target="_blank">serious about virtualization</a>, which is an indispensable tool in their stated goal of creating a high-density micro-data center with the smallest footprint possible. They are 100% wind-powered and have already virtualized much of their data center, reducing the amount of hardware necessary to run the business and driving down costs to produce even more competitive advantage in a crowded marketplace.</p>
<p>VSPP for vCloud provides a rental model of VMware licenses – e.g., for Enterprise ESX or VDI. VMware Service Providers report on their customers’ virtual machines (vm) and pay only for what is actually used. This model lets Opus Interactive quickly spin up a vm to get a new customer up and running in about an hour and stay very cost competitive at the same time; Opus offers their <a href="http://opusinteractive.com/vClustr.asp" target="_blank">vClustr entry-level virtual server</a> for only $99.</p>
<p>Cost-effective, rapidly scalable computing “on-demand” based on shared resources, managed by “expert” third-parties, enabled by virtualization technology and pay-per-use vm licenses. Cloud computing? Instead of thinking about a single definition of cloud computing, perhaps it’s more relevant as the market matures to think about a continuum of cloud computing. And by that definition, Opus Interactive is providing cloud services, enabled by VMware’s VSP program. Next on the schedule, automated provisioning and perhaps in the future, API’s that make it even easier for application developers to test and deploy apps on Opus Interactive’s cloud platform – which, by the way, uses <a href="http://www.sciencelogic.com/products.htm" target="_blank">EM7</a> for its core management solution.</p>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<span class="byline-author">Posted by Chris Evans</span><br /><br />We've seen some speculation recently about a purported security vulnerability in Gmail and the theft of several website owners' domains by unauthorized third parties. At Google we're committed to providing secure products, and we mounted an immediate investigation. Our results indicate no evidence of a Gmail vulnerability.<br /><br />With help from affected users, we determined that the cause was a phishing scheme, a common method used by malicious actors to trick people into sharing their sensitive information. Attackers sent customized e-mails encouraging web domain owners to visit fraudulent websites such as "google-hosts.com" that they set up purely to harvest usernames and passwords. These fake sites had no affiliation with Google, and the ones we've seen are now offline. Once attackers gained the user credentials, they were free to modify the affected accounts as they desired. In this case, the attacker set up mail filters specifically designed to forward messages from web domain providers.<br /><br />Several news stories referenced a <a title="domain theft from December 2007" href="http://www.davidairey.com/google-gmail-security-hijack/" id="d.kh">domain theft from December 2007</a> that was incorrectly linked to a Gmail CSRF vulnerability</span>. We did have a Gmail CSRF bug reported to us in September 2007 that we fixed and deployed worldwide within 24 hours of private disclosure of the bug details. We know of no affected users. Neither this bug nor any other Gmail bug was involved in the December 2007 domain theft.<br /><br />We recognize how many people depend on Gmail, and we strive to make it as secure as possible. At this time, we'd like to thank the wider security community for working with us to achieve this goal. We're always looking at new ways to enhance Gmail security.       <title><![CDATA[ Here Comes Everybody Review]]></title>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In 1937, Ronald Coase answered one of the most perplexing questions in economics: if markets are so great, why do organizations exist? Why don't people just buy and sell their own services in a market instead? Coase, who won the 1991 Nobel Prize in Economics, answered the question by noting a market's transaction costs: buyers and sellers need to find one another, then reach agreement, and so on. The Coase theorem implies that if these transaction costs are low enough, direct markets of individuals make a whole lot of sense. But if they are too high, it makes more sense to get the job done by an organization that hires people. </p>

<p>Economists have long understood the corollary concept of Coase's ceiling, a point above which organizations collapse under their own weight -- where hiring someone, however competent, means more work for everyone else than the new hire contributes. Software projects often bump their heads against Coase's ceiling: recall Frederick P. Brooks Jr.'s seminal study, <cite>The Mythical Man-Month</cite> (Addison-Wesley, 1975), which showed how adding another person onto a project can slow progress and increase errors. </p>

<p>What's new is something consultant and social technologist Clay Shirky calls &quot;Coase's Floor,&quot; below which we find projects and activities that aren't worth their organizational costs -- things so esoteric, so frivolous, so nonsensical, or just so thoroughly unimportant that no organization, large or small, would ever bother with them. Things that you shake your head at when you see them and think, &quot;That's ridiculous.&quot;</p>

<p>Sounds a lot like the Internet, doesn't it? And that's precisely Shirky's point. His new book, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1594201536/counterpane/"><cite>Here Comes Everybody: The Power of Organizing Without Organizations</cite></a>, explores a world where organizational costs are close to zero and where ad hoc, loosely connected groups of unpaid amateurs can create an encyclopedia larger than the Britannica and a computer operating system to challenge Microsoft's. </p>

<p>Shirky teaches at New York University's Interactive Telecommunications Program, but this is no academic book. Sacrificing rigor for readability, <cite>Here Comes Everybody</cite> is an entertaining as well as informative romp through some of the Internet's signal moments -- the Howard Dean phenomenon, Belarusian protests organized on LiveJournal, the lost cellphone of a woman named Ivanna, Meetup.com, flash mobs, Twitter, and more -- which Shirky uses to illustrate his points. </p>

<p>The book is filled with bits of insight and common sense, explaining why young people take better advantage of social tools, how the Internet affects social change, and how most Internet discourse falls somewhere between dinnertime conversation and publishing. </p>

<p>Shirky notes that &quot;most user-generated content isn't 'content' at all, in the sense of being created for general consumption, any more than a phone call between you and a sibling is 'family-generated content.' Most of what gets created on any given day is just the ordinary stuff of life -- gossip, little updates, thinking out loud -- but now it's done in the same medium as professionally produced material. Unlike professionally produced material, however, Internet content can be organized after the fact.&quot; </p>

<p>No one coordinates Flickr's 6 million to 8 million users. Yet Flickr had the first photos from the 2005 London Transport bombings, beating the traditional news media. Why? People with cellphone cameras uploaded their photos to Flickr. They coordinated themselves using tools that Flickr provides. This is the sort of impromptu organization the Internet is ideally suited for. Shirky explains how these moments are harbingers of a future that can self-organize without formal hierarchies. </p>

<p>These nonorganizations allow for contributions from a wider group of people. A newspaper has to pay someone to take photos; it can't be bothered to hire someone to stand around London underground stations waiting for a major event. Similarly, Microsoft has to pay a programmer full time, and <cite>Encyclopedia Britannica</cite> has to pay someone to write articles. But Flickr can make use of a person with just one photo to contribute, Linux can harness the work of a programmer with little time, and Wikipedia benefits if someone corrects just a single typo. These aggregations of millions of actions that were previously below the Coasean floor have enormous potential. </p>

<p>But a flash mob is still a mob. In a world where the Coasean floor is at ground level, all sorts of organizations appear, including ones you might not like: violent political organizations, hate groups, Holocaust deniers, and so on. (Shirky's discussion of teen anorexia support groups makes for very disturbing reading.) This has considerable implications for security, both online and off. </p>

<p>We never realized how much our security could be attributed to distance and inconvenience -- how difficult it is to recruit, organize, coordinate, and communicate without formal organizations. That inadvertent measure of security is now gone. Bad guys, from hacker groups to terrorist groups, will use the same ad hoc organizational technologies that the rest of us do. And while there has been some success in closing down individual Web pages, discussion groups, and blogs, these are just stopgap measures. </p>

<p>In the end, a virtual community is still a community, and it needs to be treated as such. And just as the best way to keep a neighborhood safe is for a policeman to walk around it, the best way to keep a virtual community safe is to have a virtual police presence. </p>

<p>Crime isn't the only danger; there is also isolation. If people can segregate themselves in ever-increasingly specialized groups, then they're less likely to be exposed to alternative ideas. We see a mild form of this in the current political trend of rival political parties having their own news sources, their own narratives, and their own facts. Increased radicalization is another danger lurking below the Coasean floor. </p>

<p>There's no going back, though. We've all figured out that the Internet makes freedom of speech a much harder right to take away. As Shirky demonstrates, Web 2.0 is having the same effect on freedom of assembly. The consequences of this won't be fully seen for years. </p>

<p><cite>Here Comes Everybody</cite> covers some of the same ground as Yochai Benkler's <cite>Wealth of Networks</cite>. But when I had to explain to one of my corporate attorneys how the Internet has changed the nature of public discourse, Shirky's book is the one I recommended.</p>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Harvard law professor Charles Nesson is <a href="http://techdirt.com/articles/20081030/0203582685.shtml">arguing</a>, in court, that the Digital Theft Deterrence and Copyright Damages Improvement Act of 1999 is unconstitutional:</p>

<blockquote>He makes the argument that the Digital Theft Deterrence and Copyright Damages Improvement Act of 1999 is very much unconstitutional, in that its hefty fines for copyright infringement (misleadingly called "theft" in the title of the bill) show that the bill is effectively a criminal statute, yet for a civil crime. That's because it really focuses on punitive damages, rather than making private parties whole again. Even worse, it puts the act of enforcing the criminal statute in the hands of a private body (the RIAA) who uses it for profit motive in being able to get hefty fines.

<blockquote>Imagine a statute which, in the name of deterrence, provides for a $750 fine for each mile-per-hour that a driver exceeds the speed limit, with the fine escalating to $150,000 per mile over the limit if the driver knew he or she was speeding. Imagine that the fines are not publicized, and most drivers do not know they exist. Imagine that enforcement of the fines is put in the hands of a private, self-interested police force, that has no political accountability, that can pursue any defendant it chooses at its own whim, that can accept or reject payoffs in exchange for not prosecuting the tickets, and that pockets for itself all payoffs and fines. Imagine that a significant percentage of these fines were never contested, regardless of whether they had merit, because the individuals being fined have limited financial resources and little idea of whether they can prevail in front of an objective judicial body.</blockquote></blockquote>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I’m out at <a href="http://clientconference.the451group.com/na/2008/" target="_blank">The 451 Group Client Conference</a> in Boston, lovely Boston. It’s been over ten years since I lived here, but somehow Boston always has a feel of home.</p>
<p>After meetings and calls, I was finally able to slip into a conference session – just in time to catch uber-smart analysts Rachel Chalmers (<a href="http://the451group.com/" target="_blank">The 451 Group</a>) and Dan Golding (<a href="http://tier1research.com/" target="_blank">Tier1 Research</a>) engage in a lively and not-so-mock debate on “<a href="http://clientconference.the451group.com/na/2008/agenda.html" target="_blank">Hosting Meets the Cloud</a>”.</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.sciencelogic.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/clip-image0021.jpg"><img style="border-top-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin: 5px; border-right-width: 0px" src="http://blog.sciencelogic.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/clip-image002-thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="clip_image002" width="240" height="157" align="left" /></a>Now this doesn’t cover the entire debate – and part II is coming tomorrow. But what it does cover is the most interesting questions (to me) and paraphrase the points made by the analysts. I thought they both had very interesting points and more similarities than differences in the end; the real difference is how they thought about the issues and through what lens – for Rachel it was the enterprise and for Dan it was managed hosting providers.<em> (</em><a href="http://images.inmagine.com/img/inspirestock/ispc037/ispc037046.jpg" target="_blank"><em>image from inmagine</em></a><em>)</em></p>
<p><strong><em>Question: What is a cloud and why?</em></strong></p>
<p><strong>Dan:</strong> Shared infrastructure leveraged/run by third parties for the benefit of enterprises, developers, etc. This is not a new idea – just recently “rebranded.” Given all the discussion and disagreement over this now, what will the cloud end up looking like?</p>
<p><strong>Rachel:</strong> The cloud is “IT infrastructure as a service” down to the level of a server operating system. Take the example of <a href="http://www.cmswatch.com/Trends/1418-Cloud-computing---Ellison-rants,-others-reap?source=RSS" target="_blank">Amazon web services</a> – in this case it’s not just the infrastructure but also the internal processes built around service delivery, e.g., provisioning, that are being exposed as a commodity to external customers.</p>
<p><strong><em>Dan’s Question for Rachel: In your opinion, how much is the <a href="http://computerworld.co.nz/news.nsf/devt/74F46C52ACB5316CCC2574F9007B3A37" target="_blank">cloud a fad versus CIOs</a> really trying to solve a problem?</em></strong></p>
<p><strong>Rachel:</strong> For the practical, roll-up-your-sleeves types of CIOs – those coming up from the engineering ranks – that I talk to, the cloud is real, as opposed to SOA and middleware.</p>
<p><strong><em>What about “internal” cloud computing – built and maintained by an enterprise versus a third-party provider?</em></strong></p>
<p><strong>Dan:</strong> Cloud computing is done by providers for customers. Certainly there are <a href="http://www.mashget.com/2008/11/02/salesforcecom-extends-cloud-computing-service/" target="_blank">enterprises that have made internal computing investments</a>, e.g., for publishing, large-scale phone systems, etc - but they were stupid ideas made by companies that have too much money. A better question here is does it make any sense for an enterprise to create their own cloud? While an enterprise can play at it, they can’t do it cost-effectively, not in a way that a third party provider can do it.</p>
<p><strong>Rachel:</strong> Many CIOs have “managed-hoster” envy – for things like chargeback and billing that hosters understand a do better. Of course there has been a rise in automation and virtualization tools in the enterprise which may not be as efficient and built for scalability as a hoster can achieve, but what is important is that they are customized/specialized for that business.</p>
<p><strong>Dan:</strong> Can you give a specific example of optimization to make it worthwhile for enterprises to do it themselves?</p>
<p><strong>Rachel:</strong> One example is sovereignty. The privacy laws around financial and healthcare information are not the same everywhere. Clouds and their geographically-dispersed data centers don’t necessarily have “national” borders. This is definitely a concern for the CIO that has to <a href="http://www.intomobile.com/2008/11/10/security-are-you-comfortable-sharing-your-information-with-%E2%80%98the-cloud%E2%80%99.html" target="_blank">comply with regulations in their industry around privacy protection</a>, for instance. Another example is security. Dow Chemical does a lot of work via joint ventures and has a need to provide but lock down desktops given to contractors as corporate workspaces. For their level of security, they need to “own” their computing resources.</p>
<p><strong>Dan:</strong> But why can’t someone like <a href="http://sungard.com/" target="_blank">SunGard</a> provide that as they do for many other large companies?</p>
<p><strong>Rachel:</strong> It comes down to a question of trust.</p>
<p><strong><em>Do people trust their hosting providers?</em></strong></p>
<p><strong>Dan</strong>: Yes. Whether it’s for a content delivery network or collocation, hosting the customers of hosting providers are some of the largest companies in the world in industries like energy and financial services. Give me a case when there was a major security issue with a hosting company. In fact, managed hosting providers usually provide better security than enterprises are capable of.</p>
<p><strong><em>And a question provided by an attendee from EMC: A few years ago, this would have been <a href="http://www.symmetrymagazine.org/breaking/2008/10/24/computing-in-a-grid-or-a-cloud/" target="_blank">a grid discussion. How is the cloud different</a>?</em></strong></p>
<p><strong>Rachel</strong>: Grid computing ended up being applicable only for niches – which I predicted. The real opportunity for everyone else with the cloud only comes up when you combine the kinds of automation tools (originally developed for grid computing) with x86 virtualization.</p>
<p><strong>Dan</strong>: I agree. Grid was a niche play. There were very few orgs that needed it and that the economics worked for. There were very few enterprises for whom it made sense to build their own for. The cloud is shared/leveraged versus grid computing. It economically makes sense in a way grid never did.</p>

<div style="text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>It's particularly interesting to see how a one-man operation evolves into a group of third-party developers starting to claim ownership rights over the modified versions despite that they're basically brandjacking the Zeus brand and building business models on the top of it.<br />

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wICHhTiQmrA/SRgZzIlf-eI/AAAAAAAACbc/YsBowySVmSk/s1600-h/zeus_new_layout_11.GIF" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wICHhTiQmrA/SRgZzIlf-eI/AAAAAAAACbc/YsBowySVmSk/s200/zeus_new_layout_11.GIF" /></a>Open source crimeware and web malware exploitation kits on the other hand undermine the business model of a great number of "<a href="http://ddanchev.blogspot.com/2008/07/coding-spyware-and-malware-for-hire.html">malware/spyware for hire</a>" vendors, which surprisingly doesn't stop them from continuing offering their services and products which are often using the de facto crimeware kits as the foundations for their propositions. Are the buyers even aware of this fact? From a buyer's perspective in times when most of the output is sold in bulk form, or access to the botnet rented for a specific period of time, the buyer doesn't care about the cybercrime platform of use, but is looking for transparent ways to justify the investment he's made into renting the service.<br />
<br />
Now that Zeus administrators and their cybercrime clerks in the face of those managing the campaigns knowingly or unknowingly knowing the type of campaigns and the data that they manage, can <a href="http://ddanchev.blogspot.com/2008/09/modified-zeus-crimeware-kit-comes-with.html">listen to their favorite music within Zeus</a> and choose different layouts for the command and control interfaces while commiting cybercrime, what's next?<br />

It's important to point out that both of these modifications haven't been released by <a href="http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/computersecurity/2008-08-04-hacker-cybercrime-zeus-identity-theft_N.htm">the original author of Zeus</a>, but by third parties filling in the gaps he has left open. The very nature of open source web based malware exploitation kits is one of the key factors for the ongoing <a href="http://ddanchev.blogspot.com/2008/08/web-based-botnet-command-and-control.html">convergence of traffic management, exploits serving, ddos, and cybercrime as a service</a> features into a simplified cybercrime platform available on demand.<br />
<br />
Following the discovery of <a href="http://ddanchev.blogspot.com/2008/06/zeus-crimeware-kit-vulnerable-to.html">a remotely exploitable flaw within Zeus in June</a> -- a <a href="http://ddanchev.blogspot.com/2008/08/pinch-vulnerable-to-remotely.html">flaw affecting Pinch</a> leaked out two months later -- allowing cyberciminals to inject their own credentials and hijack the botnet of other cybercriminals, this modified version claims to have fixed three vulnerabilities within the original Zeus release, namely, a remote file inclusion flaw and two SQL injections within the administration panel. Here's the new CHANGELOG :<br />

As it's becoming increasingly clear that what once used to be a proprietary crimeware kits whose business model got undermined by their open source nature and the fact that they've started leaking for average cybercriminals and script kiddies to take advantage of, are today's "open source projects" - and therefore maintaining static lists of exploits and features included within a particular kit is getting even more irrelevant these days. In the long term, the quality assurance processes applied within crimeware kits courtesy of third party cybercriminals, is prone to shift from performance to <a href="http://ddanchev.blogspot.com/2008/10/quality-and-assurance-in-malware.html">improving the infection rates</a>.<div class="feedflare">

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Quantum cryptography is back in the news, and the basic idea is still unbelievably cool, in theory, and nearly useless in real life.</p>

<p>The idea behind quantum crypto is that two people communicating using a quantum channel can be absolutely sure no one is eavesdropping.  Heisenberg's uncertainty principle requires anyone measuring a quantum system to disturb it, and that disturbance alerts legitimate users as to the eavesdropper's presence.  No disturbance, no eavesdropper -- period.</p>

<p>This month we've seen reports on a new <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7661311.stm">working</a> quantum-key distribution <a href="http://news.cnet.com/8301-1009_3-10064219-83.html?part=rss&subj=news&tag=2547-1_3-0-5">network</a> in Vienna, and a new quantum-key distribution <a href="http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/10/09/quantum_crypto_turbo_charged/">technique</a> out of Britain. Great stuff, but headlines like the BBC's "'Unbreakable' encryption unveiled" are a bit much.</p>

<p>The basic science behind quantum crypto was developed, and prototypes built, in the early 1980s by Charles Bennett and Giles Brassard, and there have been <a href="http://www.cs.mcgill.ca/~crepeau/CRYPTO/Biblio-QC.html">steady advances</a> in engineering since then. I describe basically how it all works in <cite>Applied Cryptography, 2nd Edition</cite> (pages 554-557). At least one company already <a href="http://www.magiqtech.com/">sells</a> quantum-key distribution products.</p>

<p>Note that this is totally separate from <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_computer">quantum computing</a>, which also has implications for cryptography. Several groups are working on designing and building a quantum computer, which is fundamentally different from a classical computer. If one were built -- and we're talking science fiction here -- then it could factor numbers and solve discrete-logarithm problems very quickly. In other words, it could break all of our commonly used public-key algorithms. For symmetric cryptography it's not that dire: A quantum computer would effectively halve the key length, so that a 256-bit key would be only as secure as a 128-bit key today. Pretty serious stuff, but years away from being practical. I think the best quantum computer today can factor the number 15.</p>

<p>While I like the science of quantum cryptography -- my undergraduate degree was in physics -- I don't see any commercial value in it. I don't believe it solves any security problem that needs solving. I don't believe that it's worth paying for, and I can't imagine anyone but a few technophiles buying and deploying it. Systems that use it don't magically become unbreakable, because the quantum part doesn't address the weak points of the system.</p>

<p>Security is a chain; it's as strong as the weakest link. Mathematical cryptography, as bad as it sometimes is, is the strongest link in most security chains. Our symmetric and public-key algorithms are pretty good, even though they're not based on much rigorous mathematical theory. The real problems are elsewhere: computer security, network security, user interface and so on.</p>

<p>Cryptography is the one area of security that we can get right. We already have good encryption algorithms, good authentication algorithms and good key-agreement protocols.  Maybe quantum cryptography can make that link stronger, but why would anyone bother? There are far more serious security problems to worry about, and it makes much more sense to spend effort securing those.</p>

<p>As I've often said, it's like defending yourself against an approaching attacker by putting a huge stake in the ground. It's useless to argue about whether the stake should be 50 feet tall or 100 feet tall, because either way, the attacker is going to go around it. Even quantum cryptography doesn't "solve" all of cryptography: The keys are exchanged with photons, but a conventional mathematical algorithm takes over for the actual encryption.</p>

<p>I'm always in favor of security research, and I have enjoyed following the developments in quantum cryptography. But as a product, it has no future. It's not that quantum cryptography might be insecure; it's that cryptography is already sufficiently secure.</p>

<p>No, it wouldn't make eavesdropping impossible.  It would make eavesdropping <i>on the communications channel</i> impossible unless someone made an implementation error.  (In the 80s, the NSA broke Soviet one-time-pad systems because the Soviets reused the pad.)  Eavesdropping via spyware or Trojan or TEMPEST would still be possible.</p><div class="feedflare">

Things changed, OPSEC is slowly emerging as a concept among malicious parties, whenever some of the "calls for action" in the DDoS attacks were posted at mainstream forums, they were immediately removed so that they don't show up in such academic initiatives</i>"<br />

If they truly wanted to compromise themselves, they would have cut Georgia off the Internet, at least from the perspective offered by this graph courtesy of the <a href="http://www.pch.net/">Packet Clearing House</a> speaking for their dependability on Russian ISPs. <br />

As for <a href="http://ddanchev.blogspot.com/2007/10/empowering-script-kiddies.html">the script kiddies</a> at <b>stopgeorgia.ru</b>, <a href="http://74.125.39.104/search?hl=en&amp;q=cache%3Astopgeorgia.ru%2F%3Fpg%3Dser&amp;aq=f&amp;oq=">they were informed enough to feature my research into their "negative public comments section"</a>.
