Heroes, the (Fall TV) Legacy

The Article has images
2007-09-25 00:00:26 by jrjones in Jeff Jones Security Blog
I was a big fan of Heroes last year and, to my surprise, it was a big hit even outside of the sci-fi, superhero, geek space. The combination of the good stories, the new revelations each week and the soap-opera-like connections between the different characters appeared to a bit wider audience than might've been expected As Season 2 kicks off...

Getting Ubuntu Linux to connect to a PPTP Cisco VPN 3000 Concentrator

2008-04-10 01:20:05 by Editor in Irongeek's Security Site

Just a quick notes page to help others that have the same problem I did. By the way, I plan to be at Conglomeration April 18th-20th. While it's not a Hacker/Security con, it's still a fun little Sci-Fi/Fantasy convention with plenty of geeky types running around. Let me know if you're a reader of Irongeek.com and plan to be there

Sci-fi writers: New tech will bring more security challenges

2008-06-02 00:00:00 by Grant Gross in Network World on Security

If IT security professionals think they have challenges now, they should wait until new technologies such as quantum computing and devices embedded in skin arrive in the not-so-distant future, three science-fiction writers said Monday

The Catalyst gives way to the Nexus

2008-01-28 23:05:30 by HASH0x8b13768 in StillSecure, After All These Years

For many more years than I care to remember the Cisco Catalyst line of switches have defined Cisco's high end best in class switch line. I remember evaluating potential web hosting companies in my days at Interliant and when talking about their data center and connectivity, they defined it by how many 6500's they had. Over the years the variety...
