...sucks. Sucks really bad Sorry for the little diversion. If you have subscribed to the Feedburner feed (either through RSS or email) you don't have to do anything. If you do check out the web page, once again set your phaser to stun and point it at Security Mike's Blog

On Travel and Airlines

2008-04-30 13:23:00 by Dr Anton Chuvakin in Anton Chuvakin Blog -

...sucks hard I do travel a lot (especially lately), but I am still amazed when smart people follow the logic of "weather delay + wet luggage = airline sucks." Admittedly, I had fun travel stories ( here and overall here ), but I never bitch about airlines. I guess I am funny that way. To top it off, I like US Airways (gasp!), which definitely...

C, I .... Hey!!! Where is my 'A'???

2008-02-03 15:28:00 by Dr Anton Chuvakin in Anton Chuvakin Blog -

...sucks that some folks chose 'A' over 'C-I-A', but they do It often takes some effort to explain why people need to care about 'C' and 'I' (no matter how painfully obvious it is for security folks!), but you never have to explain the 'A' part Yes, if your data is corrupted ('I' violation), then obviously the right data is not available (leads...

Welcome to the Platform Club! :-)

2008-02-15 14:59:00 by Dr Anton Chuvakin in Anton Chuvakin Blog -

...sucks - I would much prefer a " user -centric ethos," since ultimately a platform is not built for people to play with it (like his? :-)), but for the end-users to do something useful with it and to solve problems that they have ... Development based on the platform is indeed critical - but not as critical as solving a problem at hand...

Cost of vulnerability

2007-03-05 21:19:05 by RaviC in Musings on Information Security

...sucks!". Eventually the vulnerability was acted up on and a fix was deployed on time The way you react to a vulnerability determines the cost of the vulnerability. There is no right answer here. Prudent and Pragmatic approach can reduce the cost and preserve company's brand identity

...sucks" bandwagon than their were vendors coming out with NAC solutions just a few short years ago. I read with disbelief Eric Ogrens piece in ComputerWorld the other day about him never being a believer in NAC. I don't remember him saying that when we were briefing him a few years ago. But maybe he was getting paid to cover NAC than, I don't...

Something in the latest Windows update is hosing my laptop

...sucks, eventually it seems to work its way out and the page refreshes. However, another fatal error happens consistently now where the cursor just freezes, the screen locks and there is nothing I can do to shake it lose without powering down by holding the power button. Then of course on reboot I have to go through dreaded Outlook "check the...

Weekend Mobile Post: The iPhone 3G Sucks...Bandwidth!

2008-06-13 16:25:10 by Glennf in Wi-Fi Networking News

What happens when everyone is running around with smartphones that are easy to use? The iPhone 3G is part of a leading trend: phones that have accessible, usable functions. Apple may be first and best, but the rest of the pack will eventually catch up. (If you'd like to refute me, launch the BlackBerry Web browser first, compare it with Safari...

Who says innovation in security is dead?

...sucks". She says with 5.5 million new viruses, how can anyone claim they are doing a good job. I don't disagree with her but unlike Amrit, I don't think the Trend response is such an innovative response. In fact I think it is exactly what the folks at Panda Security in Spain have been talking bout doing for some time now A couple of other...
